Carbon Fibre Upper Centre Console for the Mercedes-Benz 190 E Evolution

The dashboard ends. The console begins. Between them the Evolution left a gap, a short run of saloon plastic joining two pieces that no longer belonged to the same idea. DMC has drawn that run in carbon, so the board and the console meet as one.

Not a bridge laid over the old moulding. A replacement. The original upper console comes out. This one goes in, and the line from the dash to the lever is no longer interrupted.

The join

A cabin is read as a single gesture or it is not read at all. The upper console is that gesture: the short panel on which the eye travels from the instruments to the hand. In the saloon it was a necessity. In the Evolution it is the piece that makes the other two true.

How the panel is made

The weave is not applied. It is built. Prepreg carbon fibre, laid to the form of the original upper console, then committed to the autoclave: heat and pressure until the laminate has no void left to hide. No film over a mould. No decorative skin. The join is the material.

The panel does not end at the autoclave. DMC offers worldwide insured shipping and concierge-level logistics, so the component arrives as securely as the commission deserves. Named, packed, and sent to the car it was drawn for.

Since 2009

DMC Exotic Car Tuning Limited has spent the years since 2009 treating carbon as structure. German engineering, held to TÜV-certified development for road safety. The same discipline supplied to OEM dealers, and to the Italian houses and yacht ateliers that already know what a weave should feel like.

The 190 E Evolution upper centre console belongs to that line. The join the homologation car was never given.

Install:

This is a replacement part. The OEM dashboard needs to be removed for installation but you won’t have to send it in. Use the DMC Tool Kit if you feel necessary. Although fitting is quite straight forward we do always recommend using a trained professionals to undertake the install. We estimate around 150 minutes to fit. Remember to turn off the airbag before installing.

Carbon Fiber Gel Coat:

DMC Carbon Fiber Products come with a free Gloss or Matte Coating on all Carbon Fiber items, please leave a note at check out which one you like. If you don’t specify we will add a gloss base layer. However we suggest you to add one additional layer to match your country’s local UV and weather requirements as they differ throughout the world. We also suggest to wax and seal the item further, even though we include a base seal of high quality carnauba product. This can be protective in regions that have high humidity or rain.
