DMC Ferrari F40 Carbon Fiber Front Clam Shell

The Ferrari F40 was never designed to hide its structure. Every surface was a decision. The front clam shell — bumper, hood and fenders formed as one — is the largest of those decisions. DMC has remade it in prepreg dry carbon fibre as a direct replacement for the original OEM part.

The piece is manufactured as a single unit. Front bumper, hood and fenders arrive as one continuous structure, cured in the autoclave so the weave remains consistent from the nose to the wheel arches. It is not an overlay. It replaces the factory component entirely.

Since 2009

DMC has worked in carbon fibre as a material, not as decoration. Prepreg is laid ply upon ply, then placed in the autoclave under heat and pressure until the laminate has no void left to hide. The same process has been used since 2009, under German engineering discipline and with TÜV-oriented development for road use. The same material standard is applied when DMC supplies OEM dealers and Italian yacht houses.

The F40 front clam shell is made the same way. The geometry is taken from the original. The material is not.

Install:

This is a replacement part.  Although fitting is quite straight forward we do always recommend using a trained professional to undertake the install. We estimate around 240 minutes to fit.

Gel Coat:

DMC Products come with a free Gloss or Matte Coating on all Carbon Fiber items, please leave a note at check out which one you like. If you don’t specify we will add a gloss base layer. However we suggest you to add one additional layer to match your country’s local UV and weather requirements as they differ throughout the world. We also suggest to wax and seal the item further, even though we include a base seal of high quality carnauba product. This can be protective in regions that have high humidity or rain.
