Description

Carbon Fiber Engine-Bonnet Vent Panels

Ferrari F8

The F8 keeps its twelve’s successor under glass and slats — a rear bonnet that is less a lid than a last conversation with the air.
Two vents live there. Factory pieces. Necessary. Quietly ordinary.

These panels do not cover that conversation.
They replace it.

The Replacement

Not add-ons.
Not frames hoped over the original grilles.

The two DMC panels take the place of the two OEM vents in the F8’s engine bonnet. The factory parts come away. Carbon takes their duty — the same openings, the same work of heat and extraction, a different skin. Prepreg, laid to tools that already know these two apertures, closed in the autoclave until each panel holds the volume Maranello drew, and nothing it did not.

From the cockpit, the engine room is unchanged in purpose.
From behind the car, the bonnet simply stops wearing the painted language of a parts bin where the weave should have been.

A pair. Left and right.
Gloss or matte — named when they are called.

Key Points

  • Nature — full replacement of the two OEM rear-bonnet vents; not overlaid, not trimmed around
  • Material — autoclave-cured prepreg carbon fibre
  • Finish — gloss or matte
  • Fitment — Ferrari F8, engine / rear bonnet
  • Presence — factory apertures, rewritten in weave
  • Set — two panels, as the lid was born

How the Carbon Is Born

A vent panel is asked to disappear and to work.

Prepreg is laid ply by ply against tools taken from the original geometry — the fall of the bonnet, the mouth of each opening. Then the autoclave: heat, pressure, the refusal of voids. What leaves the oven must sit in the lid as if Fiorano had specified carbon for these two breaths from the first drawing. Edges that meet. Extraction that remains honest. A surface that does not read as aftermarket when the deck is closed.

No theatre in the oven.
Only two parts that have earned the right to replace two others.

DMC

Since 2009.

A German house, headquartered in Hong Kong, that has spent those years in carbon the way a workshop spends years in a single material: wings, bodies, the quiet parts that change a car’s temperature without announcing a brand.

Pieces are developed to meet TÜV — not as a badge on a page, but as the discipline that lets a component leave the atelier and meet a road.

We have long supplied Italian houses that already know what carbon should feel like: yachts that will never shout, showrooms that will not accept a weave that looks bolted on. The same patience is asked of this pair.

The Recital

An F8 already knows how to let the mid-engine breathe.
These two panels are how that breath is allowed to be carbon.

Install:

This is an add-on part, the OEM rear base doesn’t need to be removed for installation. Although fitting is quite straight forward we do always recommend using a trained professional to undertake the install. We estimate around 30 minutes to fit.

Gel Coat:

DMC Products come with a free Gloss or Matte Coating on all Carbon Fiber items, please leave a note at check out which one you like. If you don’t specify we will add a gloss base layer. However we suggest you to add one additional layer to match your country’s local UV and weather requirements as they differ throughout the world. We also suggest to wax, polish and seal the item further, even though we include a base seal of high quality carnauba product. This can be protective in regions that have high humidity or rain.
